The history of Tenuta la Batistina dates back to the beginning of the 20th century in Suvereto, in the place that will take the name of the family itself "Molino della Batistina" when Batistini and his wife started the business in the field of wheat processing, olive groves and vineyards for personal and local use. In this place, the precious Tuscan hills host ten hectares of vineyards, still harvested according to the techniques of the past and cultivated mainly with: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot and spread over several areas of the estate that provide different exposure and climatic characteristics. The vineyards are located 250 meters above sea level and are exposed to the southwest.
Suvereto is a suggestive medieval village, still today surrounded by walls, a few steps from the Etruscan city of Populonia, in Tuscany. A center with a particularly mild climate, it is located on the gentle slopes that rise from the valley of the Cornia river towards the metalliferous hills; from these first hills you can see the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Gulf of Follonica and the Island of Elba. Behind it, roads and paths wind towards the cities of Massa Marittima and Volterra.
